Holistic healing methods are needed now more than ever

In today’s technological world, people are very quick to look to high-tech answers to their everyday problems. Regardless of what the issue, science seems to hold the answer. This is particularly true when it comes to questions of health.

Modern medicine has made tremendous strides over the last few years in developing medications and surgical techniques that address many problems that were previously thought incurable. For example, a cancer diagnosis, which once was practically a death sentence, now can be far less serious.

However, there has been relatively little consideration of what may have been lost in this rush to have technology solve all of our problems. For example, alternative healing methods, like yoga, meditation or tai chi, are time-tested techniques that have been proven over the course of centuries to help individuals support their health and limit their risk of disease.

Additionally, these methods may bring peace and serenity quotes to the lips of practitioners, indicating that the benefits go much deeper than physical health concerns.

Yet, increasingly, the healthcare system is moving away from these types of approaches to health. It seems that with every new technological breakthrough, another alternative healing method is lost.

This doesn’t have to the be case, however. Just because doctors rarely recommend meditation techniques or yoga to their patients doesn’t mean that people can’t pursue these methods on their own.

Author and philosopher Ilchi Lee has long recommended alternative healing methods to help individuals deal with their everyday health concerns. While these techniques may not have the power to cure serious illnesses, they are capable of keeping individuals healthy and allowing them to avoid becoming sick in the first place.
