Cancer survivors deserve extra attention and care
Cancer is not the death sentence it once was. Today, many people are able to survive tumors that just a few decades ago would have been fatal. In fact, a recent report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicated that there are currently 9.8 million living cancer survivors.
However, just because a person survives their condition doesn't mean that they emerge from treatment without some scars. Whether they be emotional or physical, cancer survivors may be in need ancient healing methods to overcome their problems.
During National Cancer Survivor Day individuals should reach out to friends and family members who survived a tumor and see if they need help with anything. This involve doing some yard work for someone who is still weakened from their treatment or simply talking to a friend who still feels anxiety left over from battling the disease.
As the number of people who have beaten cancer continue to grow due to advances in treatment, it will be important for friends and family members to keep in mind the needs of these people.
